About Our Shelter
Pharaohs Furgotten Tails is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Denver, Colorado, USA. The organization was established by Bahram Razaghnia along with his brother Shahram Razaghnia in Denver and their partner, Shireen Nassar who lives and works in Cairo, Egypt.
Our mission is to protect stray or abandoned dogs and cats at our shelter in the Orabi section of Cairo.
We established the Kahu shelter in January, 2023 after helping other local Cairo rescues for the preceding seven years by supplying food, medicine and relocation of dogs and cats. Kahu is a Hawaiian word meaning protector or guardian.
Our shelter is about 12 miles from the Nile River and 15 miles from Giza, the home of the Pyramids. The property we rent is on approximately 5 acres of land and we are currently able to house 290 dogs. The property is walled and staffed by 7 employees.
