We take active responsibility in controlling the stray dog population through vital spaying and neutering efforts—something the Egyptian government currently does not provide. Without a national program in place, it’s up to local rescuers and compassionate supporters like you to tackle this growing issue. We regularly organize spay/neuter surgeries for stray dogs to prevent further suffering caused by overpopulation. Each procedure costs 1450 EGP/31 USD for males and 1570 EGP/33 USD for females, in addition to boarding fees during their recovery. These surgeries are essential not only for the health of individual dogs but for the wellbeing of the entire community. At this time we’re have to segregate males and females due to the fact that only 27% of our dogs have been spayed or neutered, unfortunately this leads to many skirmishes on the property and many of our visits to the vet hospital has been for fighting wounds
